Non surgical Spinal Decompression
What is Non-surgical spinal decompression?
Non-surgical spinal decompression involves having the patient lie on a specialized table. The patient will be connected to a machine that gently stretches the spine, relieving pressure on discs, joints, and connective tissues. The level of tension is regulated by the machine and is set to a level determined according to each person’s condition.
Benefits of Spinal Decompression
The discs between the vertebrae will sometimes degenerate, herniate, or bulge causing pain by compressing the nerve or spinal cord. Non-invasive surgical decompression can alleviate neck pain, back pain, numbness and tingling that radiates down the arms and legs. This condition is called radiculopathy or sciatic neuralgia. Spinal Decompression treats the cause of this pain by taking pressure off the discs and nerves allowing them to heal. When you first visit our office, Dr. Gellman will assess your condition to determine if you will benefit from non-surgical spinal decompression. If that is favorable, we will start a series of spinal decompression visits. Lower back pain, sciatica, radiculopathy, leg pain and disc diseases respond particularly well to this treatment.
